Marathon presentation
THE Stockholm marathon is very popular with runners. It is one of the most famous marathons in the world, both for its impeccable organization only for the beauty of its journey in the city center.
The marathon circuit provides for a departure and arrival in front of and in the Olympic stadium, built for the 1912 Olympics. It consists of two loops. One with the first kilometers in the center of the city and its most beautiful monuments, the other and the following kms will take you to peaceful neighborhoods by LADUGARDSGARDET and DJURGARDEN. You will then run in the large green spaces and along the banks of the Swedish capital before passing the famous VASTERBRON bridge and its magnificent view in the city center. Finally, you will be proud to cross the finish line after having made yourself last meters inside the Olympic stadium. Enough to experience, for a short moment, the arrival of an Olympic race! With this route, you will have the opportunity to see the Royal Palace, the town hall or even the royal dramatic theater.
Each year, the event brings together more than 22,000 marathon runners coming from all over the world. It's the biggest sporting event in Stockholm and its runners take to its streets. With some thousands of spectators gathered along the route, a warm and friendly atmosphere emerges in the center. Once finished, you will be proud to wear your Stockholm Marathon T-shirt and medal while enjoying a well-deserved cold drink.
