Marathon presentation
THE Marrakech marathon like its half takes place in winter in order to take advantage of the ideal weather what Morocco offers during this period. With the race starting at 8:30 a.m. or 9:30 a.m. depending on the distance chosen, temperatures are around 6 to 12°C and will gradually increase to exceed 20°C over the last few kilometers.
Running in Marrakech will also be an opportunity for you soak up local culture. With some musicians present at different places along the route or even happy children to see marathon runners passing through their neighborhood for an exchange of smiles or a high five, let yourself be immersed in this very special atmosphere which will brighten up your event.
The start and finish lines are located on Avenue de MENARA. The course will allow you to run along the famous city walls. But also endemic Moroccan trees with olive trees, date palms and orange trees.
Please note that the maximum time you can do in the marathon is 5h30. It therefore remains accessible to beginner marathon runners in this discipline. The organization of the marathon plans refreshments every 5 km with water and oranges. If you are used to taking certain bars or other energy products, do not hesitate to come with them. In addition, each participant will receive a T-shirt and a medal.
Accompanists will be able to encourage runners along the route. Some will enjoy traveling by bike in this environment sublime on the edge of the Atlas mountain range visible when the sky is clear.
After the effort, you will enjoy the wonders that the city has to offer you. Between the souk and the Medina and its traders, its superb palm grove and its ocher ramparts, Marrakech will no longer have any secrets for you. We have selected the ANDALOUS**** hotel for you. You will appreciate its ideal location for your sporting stay. Located in the Hivernage district, it is approximately 100 m from the start and finish of the Marrakech marathon and its semi. Whether you are a runner or a guide, you can easily get there whenever you want.
Additionally, go to discovery of the red city easily on foot. Allow 10 minutes to reach the ramparts or 15 minutes to go to the famous Jemaa-el-Fna square, the city center and its Koutoubia minaret.
