Marathon presentation
The choice of Dubai marathon route is not trivial. In the search for “always more”, the organizers have chosen above all, a flat circuit conducive to great performance to try to set a new world record. The world's greatest athletes are invited every year in the race to achieve this. For this, the organization is offering them one of the greatest rewards in the 42.195 km discipline: 100,000$ for the winner and 1 million $ if a new world record is established. Something to motivate the troops 🙂 This is why this route will perhaps give you the opportunity to meet them during your effort.
The start and finish of the Dubai marathon and 10 km are located on Umm Suqeim Street. The starting line is more precisely facing the Medina Jumeira and not far from the famous Burj Al Arab, proclaimed the only 7 star in the world with its giant sail shape overlooking the Persian Gulf. It perfectly illustrates the gigantism of this city. As for the 4 kms, the starting line is on Jumeirah Beach Rd not far from the other departures. The finish lines are located at the Dubai Police Academy for the 3 races.
The start time of the marathon will be at 7 a.m. so that you can enjoy the mild morning temperatures of around 10 and 15 C°. You will discover the soothing ambiance that the morning mist gives to the city. THE route will take place along the coastal road in several loops on either side of Jumeirah Beach Rd. The Burj Al Arab will therefore be the central point of your sporting event since you will have the opportunity to see it several times. Furthermore, between the 19th and 20th kilometer, you can see Downtown Dubai and the famous Burj Khalifa, the tallest tower in the world until 2015.
Furthermore, the other races also consist of a smaller loop near Burj Al Arab. This is why, by staying not far from it, you can easily encourage the troops if you wish to accompany. You will also have the chance to meet marathoners and other runners several times. Finally, the more than 20,000 participants of which 2,000 in the marathon will all receive, a technical T-Shirt as well as a medal.
