Take part in the 2026 Dubai Marathon, with its 10K or 4K races, and make the most of your stay to discover this city of excess. Built on the edge of the desert, you will enjoy the warm, humid climate that the Middle East offers during the winter season.
The choice of route for the Dubai Marathon is not insignificant. In their quest for “ever more,” the organizers have chosen above all a flat course conducive to great performances in an attempt to set a new world record. The world’s greatest athletes are invited to the race every year to achieve this goal. To this end, the organizers offer one of the biggest prizes in the 42.195 km discipline: $100,000 for the winner and $1 million if a new world record is set. That’s enough to motivate the troops 🙂 That’s why this route may give you the opportunity to cross paths with them during your run.
The start and finish of the Dubai Marathon and 10K are located on Umm Suqeim Road. More precisely, the starting line is opposite Medina Jumeirah and not far from the famous Burj Al Arab, proclaimed the world’s only 7-star hotel with its giant sail shape overlooking the Persian Gulf. It perfectly illustrates the sheer scale of this city. As for the 4 km race, the starting line is on Jumeirah Beach Rd, not far from the other starts. The finish lines for all three races are located at the Dubai Police Academy.
The marathon will start at 7 a.m. so that you can enjoy the mild morning temperatures of around 10 to 15°C. You will discover the peaceful atmosphere that the morning mist brings to the city. The route will follow the coastal road in several loops on either side of Jumeirah Beach Rd. The Burj Al Arab will be the focal point of your race, as you will see it several times. Between the 19th and 20th kilometers, you will also see Downtown Dubai and the famous Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest tower until 2015.
In addition, the other races also consist of a smaller loop near Burj Al Arab. This means that by staying close to it, you can easily cheer on the runners if you want to accompany them. You will also have the chance to see the marathon runners and other runners several times. Finally, the more than 20,000 participants, including 2,000 in the marathon, will all receive a technical T-shirt and a medal.
