Marathon Overview
When you run the Dublin Marathon, you’ll understand why it’s known as the Friendship Marathon. Throughout your run, you will be carried along by the cheers of the many spectators lining the roads. This will make it easier for you to forget the difficulty of certain sections 😉 In addition to the atmosphere at the start and finish of the marathon, bands will be playing along the entire route.
The marathon route has been carefully planned to offer you a particularly interesting variety of landscapes. Whether it’s the city center and its monuments, part of an industrial area, or Ireland’s many green spaces, your physical effort will be rewarded by this fabulous open-air spectacle. The starting area is located on Upper Fitzwilliam Street, and the finish line is at Merrion Square North.
In terms of refreshments, the marathon organizers will provide water, energy drinks and gels, and bananas. In addition, spectators will be handing out plenty of candy during the last few kilometers, which should help you keep going. Once you cross the finish line, all marathon runners will receive a medal and a finisher T-shirt.
When you travel with Planet Tours, your race number is guaranteed and can be collected at the marathon expo when you arrive in Dublin. Our tour guide will help you with the process if necessary. 2026 rates
You will need to get to the hotel on your own. Upon request, we can book your plane tickets, but you will need to arrange your own transfer from the airport to the hotel.
A deposit of half the cost of the trip is payable at the time of booking, with the balance due 90 days before departure.
These prices include:
- 3 nights in a 4-star hotel (room equipped with kitchenette)
- Assistance from our representative
- 3 buffet breakfasts (in the form of packed lunches on Sunday morning for the runners)
- Backpack and T-shirt provided to runners
- Guaranteed marathon registration: €190
- Cancellation/loss of luggage insurance: €45 per person/ with HEALTH PROTECTION extension included: €70
- Delivery of your Planet Tours backpack and T-shirt via Mondial Relay: €18 (otherwise, you can collect it directly at the agency. No bags will be handed out at the hotel).

IMPORTANT: READ BEFORE REGISTERING
If you are traveling alone and ask to share your room with another rider, we will try to accommodate your request, provided we have another participant who has expressed the same wish. Failing this, you will be upgraded to a single room at the single room rate.

The hotel is about 1.5 km from the marathon’s start and finish area, easily accessible on foot or by public transport. It offers modern and comfortable rooms, a complimentary breakfast, and a fitness room to relax or stretch after the race. Rooms are equipped with kitchenettes, ideal for a quick, budget-friendly pasta meal before the marathon. Its central location also allows easy access to Trinity College, Temple Bar and its pubs, as well as many other attractions the city has to offer.
