Come run the Barcelona Marathon 2026 and enjoy the laid-back lifestyle of the Catalan capital. This getaway under the mild Mediterranean climate is the perfect opportunity to discover — or rediscover — the city’s unique architecture along the marathon route, while savoring local specialties such as tapas, sangria, paella, and tortillas waiting just for you. Of course, after the effort of the race…
With a mostly flat route right in the city center, the organizers of the Barcelona Marathon have designed a course that will please as many runners as possible. Over 42.195 km, you’ll pass through some of the city’s most iconic landmarks thanks to the new course inaugurated in 2023. Expect to see the impressive Sagrada Família, the beautiful beach and coastline, and finish under the Arc de Triomf. You’ll also catch sight of La Monumental, Casa Batlló, and the Bac de Roda Bridge — in short, a condensed version of everything Barcelona has to offer 🙂
The start and finish lines of the marathon are located at Plaça de Gràcia and Arc de Triomf. The atmosphere at the start area is electric, giving you the boost you need to take on your sporting challenge. It’s an unforgettable moment shared with nearly 20,000 other participants. Once you cross the finish line, you’ll receive your medal to crown your achievement in style.
On the practical side, we take care of your race registration. Your bib will be collected at the expo along with your official Barcelona Marathon T-shirt. On race day, you’ll have access to a locker area at the start and finish zones, as well as refreshment stations every 2 to 3 kilometers.
Come experience the festive and athletic spirit of Catalonia with our group and our long-distance running enthusiast guide. Whether you’re a marathoner or a companion, we’ll be delighted to assist you throughout your stay. Simply check out our program and book the option that suits you best.
