Marathon Overview

By running the London Marathon, you are taking part in one of the world’s greatest marathons. With over two million spectators cheering you on, an electric atmosphere is guaranteed throughout the race. The course itself is flat, fast, and friendly.

The marathon starts at Greenwich on Sunday morning. The organization has set up 3 different zones: blue, green and red. Depending on the time you’re aiming for, you’ll be assigned to a starting zone. This starting point will be an opportunity to discover the Cutty Sark, a famous British naval sailing ship.

In addition to its lively, upbeat atmosphere, London’s most famous landmarks are on your route from the start of this popular race, including Tower Bridge, Canary Wharf, the Tower of London, Westminster, the London Eye, Big Ben and the River Thames on the final kilometers. The finish line, in Saint James Park next to Buckingham Palace, is a fitting end to your experience. So British!

The Virgin Money London Marathon is one of the six marathons that make up the Abbott World Marathon Majors, alongside Berlin, Boston, Chicago, New York, and Tokyo. Whether you are a running enthusiast—particularly of road races—an athlete, or a beginner, come take part in the 44th edition of this marathon and earn your medal and finisher’s T-shirt for this legendary event.

As with every year, the organizers are planning an exhibition where you can pick up your race number. No medical certificate is required. No Pasta Party is offered by the organization. That’s why we’re offering a private one at the hotel, for an extra charge the day before the event.

Why run the London Marathon with Planet-Tours?

The TCS London Marathon is one of the six Abbott World Marathon Majors, alongside Berlin, Boston, Chicago, New York, and Tokyo. Securing an individual race entry is a real challenge: the official London Marathon lottery receives hundreds of thousands of applications each year for a very limited number of spots.

By booking your London marathon trip with Planet-Tours, you bypass the lottery and secure your official TCS race entry the moment you sign up—no stress, no waiting. Our team then handles all the logistics: city-center hotel accommodation (Pullman London St Pancras or Travelodge London Central Tower Bridge), private bus transport from the Pullman to the start line in Greenwich, and support from our running experts.

Whether you are a seasoned marathoner, running your first 42.195 km, or simply accompanying a runner, our team guides you from start to finish to ensure you arrive in peak condition. A single point of contact—and no unpleasant surprises.
